Unique New Cruise Travel Program Raises Funds for Veteran’s Groups

Fort Lauderdale, Florida July 11, 2016 When you combine a retired cruise executive with a desire to support worthwhile veteran’s charitable organizations, Voyages For Veterans is the result. The new concept is the brainchild of South Florida resident Joe Ewart. He retired in 2014 after a long career working with cruise lines and large cruise travel agency organizations in sales, marketing, and operational capacities. Ewart was the founder of the first cruise-only franchise chain in the mid 80’s and participated in the development of several national brands. He was recognized for his contributions to the industry as a 2005 inductee into the Cruise Lines International Association Hall of Fame.

Ewart joined the travel industry shortly after leaving the Army in 1971 having spent a year with the U.S. Infantry in Vietnam with the Americal Division 3rd Light Infantry Brigade. He says, “While Vietnam was an unpopular war, I am happy that in today’s environment, all veterans are appreciated for their service and sacrifice. It is my hope that Voyages For Veterans will be a conduit to raise significant funds for worthwhile and legitimate 4 Star rated military charity. Our program is a unique way to channel funds without direct contribution. It is a quite simple concept: book a cruise with a participating CruiseOne/Dream Vacations veteran-owned franchise location and they will donate a portion of their commission income to a 4 star military charity. The donation does not affect or increase the selling price to the public.”

Ewart further stated “by partnering with CruiseOne/Dream Vacations, which is part of the one of the world’s largest travel retailer organizations – World Travel Holdings, we insure that travelers will receive excellent prices, the latest information on promotions and great service. This is truly a win-win for the traveling public who want to take a cruise and at the same time generate a donation to a worthwhile veteran’s organization. We are hoping that this program will become an important contributor to these great causes.”
