Q&A

Q. Who is running Voyages For Veterans?
A. This program was created by Joe Ewart. Joe retired in 2014 after 40 years in the cruise travel business and was formerly the VP Sales, Marketing and Recruitment for CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. He is a 2005 inductee into the CLIA Hall of Fame. He is also a Vietnam combat veteran.

Q. Who is eligible to purchase through this program?
A. Anyone. It is not restricted to veterans and should not be confused as a program FOR veterans but a program to create funds to be donated to our designated military charities.

Q. Do all cruise bookings qualify for this program.
A. With the exception of short cruises under $500, all bookings qualify for the donation.

Q. Do I pay for the donation and does it affect the cost of the cruise?
A. No, the donation is funded as part of the commission that your local veteran-owned CruiseOne/Dream Vacations franchise would normally earn. Your cruise is not “marked up” or affected in any way by booking through this program.

Q. How do I book?
A. You must access the program via the Voyages for Veterans toll free number (844) 798-3436. This number will connect you to a participating veteran-owned franchisee. From that point on, you will deal directly with the CruiseOne/Dream Vacations agent handling your booking and should always use their direct contact number.

Q. Is CruiseOne/Dream Vacations a reputable company and are my funds safe?
A. Absolutely! CruiseOne was founded in 1992 and is now a division of World Travel Holdings, the world’s largest cruise retailer. CruiseOne combines national buying power and personalized service and attention via a network of more than 1,000 local franchises. The Dream Vacations franchises book both cruises and land tours.

Q. Are “military cruise fares” eligible for this program?
A. Yes. Many cruise lines will offer special fares and benefits to both active duty and former military members. These programs vary by cruise line and by eligibility. Your assigned CruiseOne/Dream Vacations agent can research and explain programs that might suit your requirements.

Q. Is any part of my cruise cost tax deductible?
A. No. While your cruise booking triggers the donation, the actual donations come from the individual franchise owner and therefore do not create a personal tax deduction.

Q. Is Voyages For Veterans a non-profit organization?
A. No, however we are a “Not For Profit” LLC. Voyages For Veterans was formed to promote cruise bookings as source of funds for reputable, 4 star military charities. We receive no payments or income of any sort from the program and rely on the founder and associates to fund the day to day operations of the group.

Q. Can my friends and family participate in the program?
A. Yes, if you are already booked, your friends and family who wish to participate in the program can contact your assigned CruiseOne/Dream Vacations franchise directly so that your bookings are all handled by the same agent.

Q. When does the program start?
A. Anticipated launch date is July 15, 2016
